Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Dear Lynwood Community,

It is with great pride that I write this letter to you as the Principal of Marco Antonio Firebaugh High School. I feel privileged to lead a school rich in culture, academic and athletic excellence. FHS received its 6 year WASC accreditation during the 2023 school year with a revisit during the 2025-2026 school year.

Our school has always been a beacon of excellence, driven by a shared commitment to fostering intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth.  This year our focus will remain on nurturing an environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.  We will continue to challenge you with rigorous academics, support you with personalized guidance, and encourage you to explore your passions and interests.  Our goal is not only to prepare you for the next stages of your academic and professional careers but also to empower you to become thoughtful, innovative, and compassionate individuals.

FHS offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses through the College Board, allowing students to maximize college credit with the completion of successful exam scores. We have also expanded our exceptional teaching practices to include programs like Career Technical Educational (CTE), Project Lead the Way (PLTW), Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Visual and Performing Arts programs, Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS), Social Emotional Learning (SEL), athletics, dual enrollment opportunities, and various clubs and activities.
Firebaugh High School provides a rigorous and supportive educational program taught by an enthusiastic, highly qualified, and dedicated staff. Our teachers and support staff understand the importance of cultivating a culture of caring. We foster a connection to the school through positive relationships and a strong sense of community. That is why our after-school tutoring programs, Edu-care and The Movement, offer students learning resources and support. Our school is committed to empowering students to embrace their culture and become future leaders.

To maximize our student's achievements while at FHS, we look forward to strengthening our partnerships with our parents and community members. As educational partners, we ask students to attend school daily, make the most of their educational opportunities, engage in activities that feed their interests, act appropriately and speak with their teachers, counselors, and/or administrators when they have questions or concerns.

Let's make this year our best one yet, filled with accomplishments, discoveries, and growth.  Together, we will continue to build a school community where excellence is not just a goal, but a way of life.

We ask students, staff, and community members to follow the Falcon Way - with "Pride and Ownership."

We are Falcon strong! We SOAR!

Mr. Larry Reed
