As part of Computer Science Education Week – recognized Dec. 4-10 to promote computer science education and inspire students to explore the world of technology – Lynwood Unified is proud to highlight its Computer Science pathway at Firebaugh High School.
Firebaugh students have the unique opportunity to dive into the world of computer science through three specialized courses that prepare students to pursue high-paying and in-demand careers.
The curriculum begins with Introduction to Computer Science, a project-based course that sparks curiosity as students explore a variety of basic computational thinking and programming concepts. The AP Computer Science Principles not only gives students the chance to earn college credit, it also nurtures critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for success in the digital age. In Computer Science A, students learn the Java programming language, designing, writing and testing computer programs.
Lynwood Unified is committed to providing students with innovative learning experiences that prepare them for long-term success. Computer Science Education Week serves as a platform to celebrate the achievements of Lynwood Unified in promoting STEM education and empowering students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in a 21st-century, technology-rich world.
