Attendance Policy
Every Day Counts at Firebaugh High School
Firebaugh High School is committed to providing every student with a quality education and positive learning experience. In accordance with California Civil Code, daily school attendance is mandatory, and we ask for your full support in ensuring that your child attends school regularly and arrives on time.
TARDIES
School begins at 8:30 a.m. A student is considered absent if they are not in their assigned class within 30 minutes of the start time (Ed Code 48260).

Students arriving late must bring a late note.

If your child is absent, you must verify the absence within 3 school days.

Unverified, truant, or unexcused absences will result in Saturday School.

Upon returning to school, students must go directly to class. Make-up work is at the teacher’s discretion and is not guaranteed for truant or late-verified absences.
EARLY DISMISSAL
Students may only be released early if picked up by a parent/guardian or emergency contact listed in Aeries, and photo ID is required.

No exceptions will be made for individuals not listed or without valid ID.

Students must be picked up by 3:00 p.m. (or by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays).

Students feeling ill must notify a teacher and visit the nurse’s office. The school nurse will contact the parent/guardian if the student needs to go home.

We do not release students based on phone calls or messages.
