Minga App
Parents and Students,
Overall, the majority of our students are arriving to class on time. However, we continue to see approximately 200–300 students per period who are consistently late to class. We are asking for your support in addressing ongoing concerns related to tardiness, excessive bathroom passes, and students being out of class without permission.
We strongly encourage parents and guardians to speak with their students about the importance of attending every class on time and remaining in class throughout the period. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential to student success and maintaining a positive learning environment.
To help address these concerns, we will begin utilizing the Minga platform to better monitor student movement on campus and identify ways to reduce these issues. As cell phone use has contributed to students coordinating meet-ups during class time, we will be implementing the following measures:
-
Certain groups of students will not be permitted to leave class at the same time.
-
Students will be limited to three bathroom passes per day, in addition to access before school, during nutrition and lunch, and after school.
Student Access to Minga:
-
Visit the Minga website (see instructional video).
-
Download the Minga App or go to app.minga.io.
-
Sign in using the student’s school Google email.
-
Select Student Tools in the bottom right corner of the app to view the student ID.
We also encourage parents and guardians to regularly review their student’s attendance through the AERIES Parent Portal, where daily attendance information is available. Monitoring attendance allows families to partner with the school in ensuring students meet expectations and arrive to class on time.
Additionally, we have experienced ongoing restroom vandalism. Please speak with your students about treating school facilities with respect. Vandalism results in wasted resources and impacts the entire school community. Our campus is a shared space, and maintaining clean and safe facilities is everyone’s responsibility.
Thank you for your continued support. We appreciate the many students who consistently meet expectations, and we value our partnership with families in supporting student success.
Thank you.
