Principal's Message

Dear Lynwood Community,

Welcome back to the 2025–26 school year! I am thrilled to welcome our students, staff, and families to what promises to be another year of excellence, growth, and achievement.

We begin this year celebrating our students’ tremendous accomplishments—95% of our seniors graduated, and 94% completed college applications, opening doors to bright futures.

Our SBAC scores showed significant gains across English Language Arts, Math, and Science, reflecting the impact of our rigorous academic programs and the dedication of our educators.  The rigorous academic courses offered at FHS are Advanced Placement (AP), Advancement Via Individual Placement (AVID), Career Technical Education (CTE), Project Lead The Way (PLTW), AB 288, and college courses offered after school while in high school (Dual Enrollment).

At this time, FHS has the highest SBAC test scores out of all the LUSD Secondary schools and ELPAC reclassification percentages.  We also had our first AB288 cohort graduate from Compton College with their A.A. Degree. 

Campus safety remains a top priority. We’ve enhanced our safety protocols to ensure that all students feel secure and supported every day, including having our active Camera System. Our continued recognition as a Platinum PBIS school underscores our strong commitment to fostering a positive, respectful, and inclusive school climate.
